BP Wasn’t At Fault (Sort of)
by Handsome Matt
I recently read an op-ed piece in the NY Times that suggested our beliefs and our actions don’t match up.
For example, some on the left believed that George Bush engineered the 9/11 attack. Also, some on the right believe that Barack Obama is a Manchurian Candidate.
Yet the reality is that neither group truly believed that. For example, we didn’t see groups of men and women arming themselves to overthrow a muderous super-villain.
The same thing happened with BP. We all say that oil drilling is bad, and that gasoline pollutes, and BP is an awful company.
Yet, we haven’t done anything to back those statements up. We still drive, we still buy gasoline, we still drill for oil.
We’ve called for change and have done nothing to actually back it up.
