Fixes Or Solutions?
by Handsome Matt
That’s the question we have to answer today in a few key arenas.
I’m currently working through an article on BusinessWeek titled “How to Fix The Economy.”
Here’s the problem with fixes. They preserve whatever was established already good or bad.
When you fix your car. You don’t drop in a new system, you merely replace the part that broke.
Whereas a solution not only stops the problem, but prevents those problems from happening again.
The stimulus bill fixed our economy. It didn’t solve any problems. The Clean Air Act fixed the problem of pollution in America. It didn’t solve the problem of pollution (although it did pave the way for proper management).
We’ve failed to solve the problems of our economic system, will we fail to solve the problems in the environment as well?
I hope not.
